Global Company for Downstream Industries (GDI) was formed as an independent entity by ADDAR Group by His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Ibn Salamah, Ex-Managing Director and Vice Chairman of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC).

GDI was established to explore downstream business opportunities in the petrochemicals, minerals, water treatment and pharmaceutical segments with the aim of transforming abundant and competitively priced feed stocks into high value added products through the development of profitable, eco-friendly downstream projects, providing  high quality job opportunities to Saudi citizens and providing much needed support to the Kingdom’s industrialization plans and national economy diversification.

We endeavor to be the leading and preferred partner for Greenfield downstream projects expertise in the petrochemicals, minerals, water treatment and pharmaceutical industry. We envision delivering best value to our customers, stakeholders, employees, society and nation by developing profitable and eco-friendly projects in KSA.

Business Development

We develop business through targeting high demand imported products. This will add value to the untapped raw materials by making such products locally. This helps the nation in its self-dependence, which yields to a strong-based economy and enrich business opportunities for domestic investors.

Dr. Ibrahim A. Ibn Salamah
Chairman GDI

Dr. Ibrahim A. Ibn Salamah he obtained his bachelor degree in Mathematics and Economics at Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas, graduating in 1968. After returning to Saudi Arabia, served as Director of the Industrial Research Department of the Government’s industrial studies and development center. In 1976, Ibrahim A. Ibn Salamah joined SABIC as Director General of Planning and Studies. In his post in SABIC he was directly engaged in planning, product studies and negotiations for SABIC joint venture. He served as a Vice Chairman and Managing Director of SABIC from 1983-1998. After retirement from SABIC, he established ADDAR Group to provide Industrial and IT consultancy.

Eng.  Khalil  Ibrahim Ibn Salamah
Managing Director GDI

Mr. Khalil started his career with SABIC. He too has a vast experience of 20 years in Technologies and Business Strategies. After SABIC, he worked for “National Industrial Clusters Development Program” as Vice President of Chemicals and Plastics.

Eng. Sabri Abdullah AlGhamdi
President GDI

Mr. Sabri started his career with Saudi Aramco, working as a Process Engineer and then moved to join SABIC. He brought with him an extensive experience of 20 years in Technology Licensing, Marketing and Business Strategy. He is a former Director for Technology Licensing and Contract Management at SABIC.
